Into the Woods – Theatre Royal, Bath (1st–19th August 2022)

I worked as a Costume Assistant on Into the Woods, a large-scale, fantasy-inspired production directed by Terry Gilliam at the Theatre Royal in Bath. This role involved supporting the Head of Wardrobe with a variety of essential costume tasks, including the preparation and maintenance of garments throughout the production. I was responsible for sewing sweat pads into each costume, assisting with laundry and repairs, and ensuring all items were correctly organised and returned to their designated dressing rooms after each performance. Working within such a high-profile creative team offered a valuable insight into the demands of professional theatre at a large scale. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that helped me strengthen my technical wardrobe skills while gaining a deeper appreciation for the collaborative nature of costume work. Meeting Terry Gilliam and seeing his directorial vision come to life made this project especially inspiring and memorable.
