All About Jazz
Hi everyone, I’m Jazz, a passionate Costume Dresser and Scenic Artist with a love for storytelling through design.
From an early age, I discovered a fascination with costume and creativity, which first began to take shape during my time with Stage 2 Youth Theatre in Birmingham. Performing at the Crescent Theatre gave me valuable insight into the production process from an actor’s perspective. As part of a small company, I was responsible for sourcing my own costumes — an experience that not only sparked a deeper interest in costume design, but also opened my eyes to the backstage world of theatre and the collaborative effort behind each performance.
I went on to study Fashion and Art & Design at college before specialising in Costume and Scenic Art at Bath Spa University. During my degree, I worked on a range of productions, including an immersive theatre experience where I designed costumes for a cast of 21 actors. That project was a defining moment for me and confirmed how much I love bringing stories to life through costume.
Since graduating in 2023, I’ve actively sought out hands-on experience in the industry. I’ve worked on large-scale productions at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, the Alexandra Theatre, Curve Theatre, and most recently the Barn Theatre in Cirencester — continuing to develop my skills in fast-paced, professional environments.
Please feel free to check out my Theatre Production page, where I’ve highlighted the fantastic venues and productions I’ve been fortunate to contribute to across the UK.
I’m dedicated to producing high-quality, meaningful work that enhances both performance and narrative. I value collaboration, hard work, and strong creative relationships, and I’m always excited to keep learning, growing, and contributing to inspiring projects across the industry.
